Type A Conference weekend: Part 1 (LINKY)

Wow, I have so much to write about this week. And consequently, so little energy! My weekend kicked off on Friday with the Type A Parent Conference at the Westin Buckhead Atlanta. I wasn't able to arrive until after school hours, so I popped in to catch a few friends and a chair massage courtesy of MSN's Bing Lounge. Not a bad way to begin a long weekend of activities!

I was really looking forward to Friday night dinner. A large group of fourteen fantastically fabulous Georgia Social Media Moms (and a dad) walked and dined together at The Tavern at Phipps. The Tavern folks were so kind to set us up with a reservation, treat us with impeccable service, and provide some tavern chips and onion rings on the house. And, by the way? Tavern chips are soooooo good! Asian, Southwestern, BBQ Chicken, spinach, traditional.... yum yum yum, in any flavor.

Despite being a bit worn out, I went back to the conference with enthusiasm, waiting to learn why Dorothy Hamill, Olympian and figure skating phenom, was a special guest.

Dorothy is a spokesperson for Get Moving America, an organization that encourages adults to get up and get moving with small movements to help fight and alleviate pain from osteoarthritis. Like Get Moving America on Facebook to follow as they build this organization. Dorothy has very useful advice on stretches and moving for health.

Then it was on to the 80's retro party! I barely made it past 9:15, but enjoyed some throwback tunes and retro candy while laughing as blogging friends got down and funky on the dance floor. Lots of fun.

... and that was only Friday! I had yet to attend an actual conference session... oops. Stay tuned.
