Because my kids are cute.

All moms are totally biased, I know.... but my kids are cute!

I was recently thrown into an important work project despite maternity leave (but hey, I was complaining about boredom just the other day) and baby has kept me very busy. So posts have been lacking lately.

Until I catch my breath, enjoy some cuteness....

Baby won't wake up

Cherry lands in the U.S. and she's on a mission to find out about your bum!

I shared the first video in this hilarious Cottonelle FreshCare wipes series with you last week, and now it's time to check in with Cherry to see what is happening in the U.S.! She did not even leave the airport before asking her hot and "dirty" questions...

Everyone must wipe, right? So let's talk about our bums! Have you ever used a bidet? I have seen them, but never tried. How do you get dry? It seems like wipes would be a much easier way to clean!

What do you think about this product? Would you use it? Or maybe you do already?  Let me know! Let's talk. Bring the conversation over to Facebook to chat with Cottonelle:  Facebook.com/Cottonelle

I'm gonna be kind to my behind with Cottonelle

I was selected, along with several other bloggers, as a brand new Cottonelle Ambassador. I will bring you a series of posts over the next few weeks, where we can chat about ways to "be kind to our behinds".

Let's face it, moms are rarely together in the same room without eventually discussing poop.

"Baby hasn't pooped in days!"
"What does green poop mean; should I be worried?"
"You should have seen the diaper explosion we had the other day!"

Ha - you get the idea. But do you know what we don't often talk about? Our own adult potty needs. I have always known Cottonelle to be a super soft, high quality toilet paper brand, and I very often purchase it for the family. But what about wipes? We don't use dry paper on our little ones' bums, why is it that we don't treat our own posteriors as kindly?

Funny lady Cherry Healy asked the same thing - and she's on a mission to find out more!

Hot back-to-school shoe trends via @FamousFootwear

Back-to-school is almost here! For those of us in the South where Summer began in late May, we have only a few days left. Amelia begins kindergarten on August 7th - next Wednesday!

We completed her back-to-school shopping this past weekend with a few new outfits and some sassy, sparkly Twinkle Toes! Her last pair of Twinkle Toes made a huge splash in preschool. By day two, I had several moms ask me where we got them! Famous Footwear has the hot styles kids love (yep, even light-up!) at reduced prices. And right now? Enjoy BOGO - Buy One, Get One 1/2 Off through September 14th! Even on backpacks.

Costumes from #DisneyOZ

I had a brief stint in the costume and scenery department for the theater while in college. I learned a few tricks with some power tools and a sewing machine. I cut some pieces of wood, painted some backdrops, and sewed very mediocre peasant attire.

#WW: She did it!

Amelia woke up on Saturday morning, 48 hours after eye surgery, in a bit of pain. But she wanted to dance. She had been practicing the winter recital dance with her two classmates for weeks, and had her heart set on performing. So we dosed her up with ibuprofen, helped her dress in her leotard and tights, and headed to recital.

She nailed it! So very proud of this tough little girl. She has just the right amount of sass to pull of this adorable dance. (She is in the center)

I have watched this at least 34 times. Can't get enough!

#WW: Loves to learn

This is one of my favorite all-time videos of baby Amelia. She is now a 4 1/2 year old smarty pants. She was a smarty pants back then too! She has always loved to learn and succeed.

"Yaaaaay!"

Happy Wednesday!

Daddy is hilarious

Unless he is working late or traveling, my husband is in charge of Amelia's bedtime. He loves spending time cuddled on her bed and playing silly games.

We still have a baby monitor in her room because even now, as of age 4 1/2, she does not leave her room. She has gotten out of bed perhaps four times in her entire life. Instead, she calls for us.

"Hey Mom-MY... Hey Dad-DY..."

Serious dancin' shoes!

Amelia's usual sparkle shoes are wearing out. The toes are scuffed and the little bows are black with dirt.

"Mommy, can I get light-up shoes? I really NEED light-up shoes!"

Without thinking, I told her sure. We could look for light-up shoes.

Three shoe stores later, we finally found some. The brightest, gaudiest shoes on the planet. And expensive! I had no idea light-up shoes had such a shocking price tag ($45 for little kid shoes?!?)

But I had promised. We had a little discussion about money and that these were very expensive. She thanked me with her sweet blue eyes aglow with happiness.

She was extremely excited to wear these to school today!

WW: She's a baller

Some playtime at "the gym" before dance class... Amelia picked up a basketball for the very first time and started shooting. Definitely found a fantastic use for her height!

After the first few shots, I needed a video:

Kids are funny

Amelia's three-year-old mind is bursting with creativity. Her art projects are colorful and detailed, and her made-up songs are getting better every day.

Last night, in a (successful) attempt to stall bedtime, she decided to perform. Here is one of my favorite Amelia originals:

"Carpet Carpet, Don't Ya Know"

I am beginning to think my advertising background is coming through. She could write a pretty catchy jingle! Carpet companies... email me for her rates.

Wordless (almost) Wednesday: Hop

This photo hangs on my fridge with a cheerful bright green magnet. It is a photo of my dear grandma, taken last month to show off a birthday gift she personally selected for Amelia. She saw this singing, dancing bunny in a store and knew it was the perfect birthday present for her great-granddaughter.

Amelia met Great Grandma a couple times, but distance kept us physically apart most of the year. Modern technology, however, could always bring us back together. This photo was included in the package so Amelia would know exactly from whom it came.

My grandma passed away four weeks later after a very brief illness. This was probably the last photo taken. I'm not sure how long it will stay up on my fridge... but I don't foresee it coming down anytime soon.

And thanks to my iPhone, we were able to send Grandma a video of Amelia enjoying her new friend. With a real-life thank you. I'm sure it brought her joy.
