Mommy & Me: Family Travel in Michigan

We just returned from an 8-day trip to Michigan! None of us had ever been in Michigan before, and it seemed like a beautiful and family-friendly location for our big kid plus a baby. We flew from Atlanta to Flint, then had a long drive to the coastal areas of the Great Lakes.

Our destinations were quite lovely: Bay Harbor, Pictured Rocks National Seashore, Mackinac Island, and Sleeping Bear Dunes National Seashore. More pics to come on Wordless Wednesday!

Travel is difficult when kids are in tow, but the memories made are ones that we hold on to forever. One of the best things about family travel is the tremendous opportunity for new family photos. We always have the camera at the ready, and with so much togetherness, we just can't help but capture some adorable "mommy & me" moments.

    1. lol hoodies at the beach is a staple on most Michigan days! But we do get some hot weather... and when that happens, we enjoy it! :)

    2. It was a nice break from our HOTlanta 90s! Couldn't really swim, though. Amelia braved a couple heated pools briefly.

  2. Michigan is my very favorite state! I was born in Traverse City and currently live near Grand Rapids before we leave for language school in France this fall! So glad you enjoyed our beautiful state. It is a wonderful family vacation destination!

  4. I'm telling you, next time fit me in your suitcase! I've flown to MI so many times, and never once flown into Flint. Always Detroit, Grand Rapids or Traverse City!
