Magnificent TN Aquarium for the family! #Chattanooga #familytravel

It was a gorgeous and warm Sunday, and we had plans to meet my family in Chattanooga for an aquarium visit. I know Chattanooga well; I lived there for four years as a UTC student. But that was quite a while ago - and I had not seen the Ocean Journey building of the aquarium.

What a fun time! We all enjoyed meandering through the paths by each and every brightly lit window, full of amazing and interesting creatures. Amelia and I even got up close and personal with some Giant Japanese Spider Crabs!

The Tennessee Aquarium has been rated the Best Aquarium in America for three years, and I definitely agree that it is wonderful! We were able to enjoy poison dart frogs, many adorable turtles and freshwater fish species in the River Journey building and hyacinth macaws, beautiful butterflies, sharks, penguins, and gorgeous jellyfish in the Ocean Journey building. If you plan a visit, expect to spend at least 2 1/2 hours to really enjoy all of the experiences you can find at this iconic downtown Chattanooga attraction.  Be sure to check out their calendar of events for upcoming attractions and special events.

For the mamas out there: We were with my five-year-old daughter and my 11-week old nephew, plus my parents. So our ages ranged from zero to retired. Everyone enjoyed the experience! Strollers are allowed, but might get a bit cumbersome on crowded summer weekends. (Sunday in October was fantastic and we had plenty of room to maneuver). There are also multiple restroom facilities on various floors throughout each building and a food court outside. Plus funky sidewalk, bridges, and stepping stones to bounce on and climb over just outside in the front courtyard area.

Note: I received free media passes for my family of three for the purposes of PR outreach and a review. However, ALL opinions are 100% mine.
