My home is happily full again this summer. A family of five has joined our family of three for a week of childhood exuberance, giggles, and adventure.
Despite age gaps (cousins are age 8, 12, and 15), they entertain each other from morning to night. They have patience with four-year-old bossiness and teach her lots of new tricks. When the cousns are around, Amelia exudes a confidence I do not always see.
I love it. I love the chaos, the noise, and even the mess. We can clean when they leave, and we can have quiet time when we are alone. But for now? We will soak it all in and be thankful.
Thankful for that perfect level of familiarity which makes family time so special.
